About
I’m an entrepreneur in the procurement world. I’ve been self-employed for 17 years now. I’ve worked inside 60 organizations — from Heineken, Nike, Randstad, and Air France-KLM to the Municipality of Amsterdam, St. Anna Hospital, Staedion, and RVO. And 53 other clients. Quite a few, so I like to keep myself and others busy.
I often come up with new business ideas. Then I start them up! Sometimes they succeed, sometimes they don’t — but it’s always a learning experience.
My latest start-up is #GoBeyondProcurement: AI prompt training, policies, and software development. It’s really great to work on — especially with a team of six smart young people and one investor. I’m somewhere in the middle.
All revenues are reinvested to improve our AI services for clients. To keep my management fee in this start-up low for now, I organize smart training sessions on intelligent procurement. That works even without AI. Knowledge is meant to be shared!
On request, I also take on standalone procurement projects, often in ICT, but I’ve purchased all kinds of things. Even car tires — more than four of them.
When I have the time, I sometimes get hired as well. I’ve become more selective, though. An organization has to genuinely want to move forward with procurement or project management. My involvement is temporary, which often accelerates change.
