About
About Total Cost Notes
Total Cost Notes is an independent guide to buying on total cost. It explains supply chain and procurement basics in plain words: resilient and sustainable supply chains, risk, total cost of ownership and fair supplier comparison.
Who writes it
The editors of Total Cost Notes write and update these pages. We don't sell anything and we don't run tenders for anyone.
About this address
This address was once used for the SCPC conference, an event on supply chain and procurement. This site is not that conference's website and has no connection to its organisers. We don't publish event information.
Facts and sources
Rules, figures and definitions come from public sources, such as the OECD, the World Bank, ISO, EU procurement law, the European Commission and UK government guidance. Worked examples use made-up round numbers and say so.
Why there is a Dutch section on every page
The idea behind this guide is simple: judge an offer on its total cost, not on its headline price. Dutch households face that choice when they compare energy contracts for 2027, the year saldering ends. Each guide page therefore ends with a Dutch explanation, reproduced from energievergelijken2027.nl. It is general information, not advice.
